Hillary Clinton had a policy statement on her website of protecting women from sexual assault, by believing women who said they were raped.

On a page dedicated to “Campus sexual assault” on HillaryClinton.com, this passage from the Democratic presidential candidate used to be prominently featured last year: “I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault: Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed, and we’re with you.”

But in a reversal, her website has removed the language "have the right to be believed".

In November, she reiterated that “every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.” The following month, she was asked at a campaign event whether the handful of women who’ve accused her husband, former President Bill Clinton, of sexual harassment and assault — Juanita Broaddrick included — deserved to be “believed” as well.

“Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton replied with a smile that was just one awkward beat too slow.

The reason this argument hasn't been in the mainstream is because neither side wants to discuss it.

I agree with the OP: this is a HUGE black mark against BILL Clinton. It's not a mark against Hillary, except that she is in the incredibly undesirable position of being married to a man who likely did such things.

On the other hand, the same accusations have been made of Donald Trump.

So... one on side, it's the actual candidate who has engaged in rape and philandering; on the other side, it's the spouse. I'm not having too much trouble figuring out which is worse. I also think that it must be hell for Hillary, and possibly related to the issue of why she wants to empower women more - while attempting the almost impossible balance of not condemning her own husband.

There's nothing wrong with saying you support the "right to be believed." The problem is that some women seem to think that includes the right to withhold the presumption of innocence from the person they accuse. "Believing you" isn't the same thing as saying we're going to give the person you accuse a kangaroo court trial and give them a punishment that the accuser deems to be sufficient.

Actually, no. Bill likely did a bunch of stuff, but the issue is that hildabeast actively fought to smear and silence the accusers. Anything to preserve her own political ambitions. That's the hypocritical scumbag that's going into the white house.

More FUD because as I said its easier to distract & encourage fear than put up a good candidate.
