Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has double-digit leads over Barack Obama in Ohio and Pennsylvania, both crucial states in upcoming primaries, according to Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday.
Clinton leads Obama 54 percent to 34 percent with 2 percent unsure in Ohio
The survey found that among likely Democratic primary voters in Pennsylvania, Clinton leads Obama 52 percent to 36 percent.

Add to this the most recent poll (third link) in Texas which shows it Clinton 48 percent to Obama 38 percent, Gravel 3 percent and Unsure 10 percent (done about 2 weeks ago).

So, actually, if Clinton wins by anywhere as much as the polls say, she will surge hugely into the lead in actual number of votes, with a less large lead in delegates also.

It ain't over the fat lady sings.
And I ain't heard no fat lady.

Clinton='s the Comeback Gal.

Don't worry Techs....Hillary or those working on her behalf will implode the campaign and throw that lead down the drain.

Last week, in remarks during a meeting with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial board, Mr. Rendell, who has endorsed Mr. Obama's rival, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, triggered the latest round when assessing Pennsylvania's electorate. Saying some Pennsylvanians likely would not vote for a black candidate, he also suggested that race might have accounted for as much as 5 percent of his winning re-election margin over Republican nominee Lynn Swann, who is black.

The governor said: "You've got conservative whites here ... who are not ready to vote for an African American candidate. I believe, looking at the returns in my election, that had Lynn Swann been the identical candidate that he was -- well-spoken, charismatic, good-looking but white instead of black -- that instead of winning by 22 points, I would have won by 17 or so. I think there was that factor there. And that exists, but on the other hand, that's counterbalanced by Obama's ability to bring new voters into the electoral pool."

The comments, which the governor says were more a lamentation than a calculation, sparked a political squall in cyberspace and on cable news channels. Internet posters accused Mr. Rendell of everything from naivete to outright racism.

This poll is from February 9th - 12th, which doesn't include the potential impact of Obama's recent victories from this past week.

Still, I expect her to win these states.

Ohio (and Texas) are open primaries, with McCain done, Independents might want to vote in the Democrat primary

Thre are still a number of primaries yet to be held, she'll surely win some.

But how many is the question.

We all know the estimate that she needs to win something like 55% of all remaining delegates. That won't happen by just winning a few states, even if they are big ones.

Obama looks like the clear favorite. But damn, in this crazy election anything could happen.

Um... wow. That is outrageous. What makes it even more bizarre is that Ed Rendell is a Jew.

All those polls take in 2007 favor Hillary - when they do not count.

I was making a play on words, insinuating the Hillary is very ugly, and that men don't want to have intercourse with her, not even her husband.

This thread is useless unless the polling for OH, PA and TX take into account Obama's recent string of victories, and continued momentum...polls prior to Super Tuesday, and Obama's recent sweep of the Potomac states, are meaningless at this point.

Also, the trend in the Potomac events will spread to OH, PA and TX...that of Obama eroding at Hillary's base...he has the money and the momentum to campaign heavily in those states...Hillary is not gaining any new supporters...Obama simply needs to continue eroding at her base.

Also, with McCain as the clear GOP frontrunner, polls that match McCain versus Hillary and McCain versus Obama will come into play...Obama currently has an advantage over Hillary in General Election polls.

I saw the video and heard Rendell address this himself.

After listening to him, didn't sound near as bad.

He was responding a question about what he thought about the "race thing".

Seemed to me he just answered the question honestly, and was talking with a few people in a closed meeting. I don't think he expected it to be published.

He also noted Obama's ability to increase Dem voter turnout. So, I don't think he was pimpin HRC and slamming Obama.

If Bill hadn't pulled his sh!t in SC this would be non-story.

Obama has closed big gaps before...

Check out the RCP results for Ohio

Rasmussen 02/13 - 02/13 754 LV 51 37 Clinton +14.0
Quinnipiac 02/06 - 02/12 564 LV 55 34 Clinton +21.0
SurveyUSA 02/10 - 02/11 720 LV 56 39 Clinton +17.0
Columbus Dispatch 01/23 - 01/31 2156 LV 42 19 Clinton +23.0
Quinnipiac 11/26 - 12/03 436 RV 45 19 Clinton +26.0
Quinnipiac 11/06 - 11/11 450 RV 42 17 Clinton +25.0
Quinnipiac 10/01 - 10/08 357 RV 47 19 Clinton +28.0
Strategic Vision (R) 09/14 - 09/16 600 LV 43 23 Clinton +20.0
Quinnipiac 08/28 - 09/03 528 RV 44 15 Clinton +29.0

See the trend there techs? 29, 28, 25, 23, 17, 14... Obama is closing the gap. 19 days is an eternity in politics and with the Clinton team in disarray who knows.

The other states (except Texas) are all heading the same direction. He doesn't have to win, he just has to make it close. That said, I'd be surprised if he lost all three of Ohio, Texas and Penn.

And we have it at last, why Hillary can't win men's vote.

He opined 1 in 20 whites might not vote for Obama because of his race...what number do you put it at? Early last year, when Hillary commanded the black vote, many blacks interviewed said they didn't support Obama out of fear they might be throwing their vote away, i.e. they didn't believe whites would vote for a black in large enough numbers to elect him. That means they thought way more than 1 out of 20 whites wouldn't vote Obama. Was that outrageous?

Um... "It ain't over til the fat lady sings." Fairly well known phrase. Not sexist. Phokus is implying that Hillary is slightly overweight and female... if she sang, she could be the fat lady in this axiom. That's not sexist.

If there were an axiom along the lines of "It ain't over til the slave's sung his negro carols" then you might have a point. But to argue that the phrase "fat lady" is in any way, shape, or form sexist is completely preposterous.

And we have it at last, why Hillary can't win men's vote.

It was a simple pun, done for comedic effect, and clearly intended in jest. Nebor wasn't saying that Hillary can't be elected because men find her unattractive; if men voted based on attractiveness, do you really think we'd have only had male presidents? I think you're overreacting to Nebor's joke post, in part because you are one of the few on this board left pushing Hillary.

I think Nebor's response, and others in this thread, have not taken the topic seriously because over the past few weeks the OP has created literally dozens of threads about how Hillary is winning everything and Obama doesn't stand a chance and reality just does not agree with that interpretation. But rather than respond to arguments, the OP moves on to create more threads. It's gotten ridiculous, and so people have stopped responding with rational answers because the OP won't read them anyway. If you aren't willing to engage in a rational dialog about these claims, then why in God's name should we treat them as anything but a place to make jokes?

If Techs is making a thread about how Hillary is going to win then we KNOW she will lose.

Just look at all this other 'hillary is winning' threads.

I think he is secretly working for Obama as a way to lower expectations.

In all fairness, you are the same man who predicted the Republicans would carry both houses of Congress in the 2006 elections.
