OK, maybe I was just a little harsh. Just amazed that someone didn't get what was an extremely smart movie.
As much as I liked Unforgiven I thought it was a little too hyped.

I saw it in the theater, and the only thing I remember hearing is that it was serious but very good. I thought it was
underhyped when I walked out.
I saw Outlaw Josie Wales when I was a kid, so I was kind of an Eastwood fan, but like I said, as good as he was (and he had some GREAT lines to deliver), I thought Hackman out-acted him. Little Bill is a fascinatingly deep/conflicted character.
Don't get me wrong. I love Unforgiven. (Duck of Earl part cracks me up)
IMHO, I thought Open Range was underrated.
I liked Open Range too, but it's more of a mood piece than a character piece, IMO.
