Clifford Matrix 2 car alarm w/ keyless entry, any good?

Which of these car alarms would you buy and why?

I would prefer to spend < $400 installed but may consider spending more.

Thanks.

UPDATE - I just spoke with a Car Toys salesrep who said DEI bought out Clifford and recommended their newest car alarm, the Matrix 2 which is about $369 installed with keyless entry.

I asked him if it's worth the price difference to get the Matrix 3 and he said not really.

$246.55 Clifford Concept 100
$339.99 Clifford Concept 400
$549.99 Clifford Avantgard 4

Go for the Concept 400.

It has all of the features of the 100, but it also has a proximity sensor for the interior of the car. This is nice for hot summer days when you don't want to leave the windows rolled up. If someone reaches in your car with the alarm armed, the alarm will go off whether they touched anything or not.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping someone would suggest.

I've read nothing but rave reviews for the Avantguard 4 but that's a lot of $ to shell out.

So the Clifford Concept 400 is a good choice to protect my Accord, right?

Yep, I would suggest that one.

The Avantguard 4 has a lot of nice features, but it's pretty spendy. Besides, a good car thief can steal your car regardless of what alarm you have if he really wants it.

I consider car alarms more of a deterrent than a solution to car theft.

Go there and browse through the whole forum for a couple hours to get a feel for what an alarm is about.

IMO, it's more important to have a good insurance policy than an alarm.

Remember that the install matters just as much as what alarm you get. Generally, you don't want to get a car alarm installed at a franchise (IE best buy) , they usually don't do a good job.

If you can hang in there, I can write a long ass list for what you want to look for. I have a final tomorrow so I can't right now.

Thanks for the link to the forums, looks like a great place for information. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I already bought a Clifford Matrix 2 and had it installed a few hours ago.
