Client Services for NetWare

I am trying to enable the Welcome Screen for Windows XP Home. However, when i go to the Change the way users log in/off menu. And it gives me the following error message:

Client services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall Client Services for Netware.

I am wondering how this works because Client Services for Netware is already disabled and is it even possible to disable a service? If anybody can give me some info on how this is possible and a possible fix for it? Thank you.

Can you uninstall Client Services for Netware? If not, try following these steps. The critical step for your issue is this one:

Change the GinaDLL value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
Under this key exists a string value named "GinaDLL".
Edit this entry from "NWGINA.DLL" to "MSGINA.DLL".

Disabled and uninstalled aren't the same thing.

Bingo. If NWClient is installed (properly), you won't be able to do it. 😉
