The two video cards on question were running F@H for months no problem.

Then I moved them to another box. They were fine for an hour. But I noticed the userid was the same, so I cleaned everything out, now only one runs, they other won;t run even by itself ! They have machineid 3 and 4, SLI disabled, and no jumper, and nothing but software changed since they were working. Totally cleaned the directory, and even did the config from scratch. -gpu 0, and -gpu 1 on the shortcuts.

Any ideas ?

Wierd!

Tried re-seating the cards? different vid drivers? different chipset drivers?
When you say 'moved them to another box, did you mean move the whole guts to another case or move the vid cards to another PC? (I guess the latter).

Moved the 2 video cards from one motherboard to another. On this motherbpard, there is not enough space between cards fot 2 AKIMBO cooling cards, so I put them in a DS4, and the 9800 GTs to this one. I even tried -gpu 0 and - gpu 1, and no change, but from the other folder, its OK.

its definitely not PSU. OCZ 600 that also has been in another stable box for a long time.

Is it worth trying the forcegpu flag?

-gpu 0 -forcegpu nvidia_g80

You never said if you'd tried reseating the grx cards?
Graphics/chipset drivers OK?

Btw re PSU, I'm sure it was fine for ages, that doesn't mean it can't just suddenly fail out of the blue, ok it's probably unlikely but the only way to be 100% sure is to check the voltages whilst it's under heavy load.

Afraid I can't help you with the client, as you know I'm a newbie to F@H ;), not to mention you probably have more experince than most on this forum :).
Just a thought though, doesn't have any registry enteries does it?

BTW, another thread I told everyone this. This motherboard won't even boot from IDE or SATA, only SCSI, the whole motherboard is getting RMA'ed, I was trying to get my ppd high while waiting for the replacement. I think thats the actual problem. And now that it boots from SCSI ? it won't boot from a CD anymore....
