When a pop up appears right click in the window get properties then copy the base url to clipboard.
Then go to tools- internet options- security tab- restricted sites- . Then click on sites button and paste the URL you copied as a restricted site. No more pop ups from that site. And no programs to download that takes up system resources.
Thing I hate about Pop Up Killer is when it activates and kills a pop up, my scrolling touchpad no longer works. I have to minimize then restore the window again before the scrolling works.
I just use K-Meleon. It's a great browser: clean, simple, fast, and best of all, there's an option to disable javascript popups on page loads/closes. It works quite nicely. I had forgotten how bad browsing with popups was when I loaded up IE to test something and *GAH!* Evil! http://www.detonate.net/matrix/pics/15/5.jpg http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/
Big fan of AnalogX Pow.
Popup stopper closes windows that sites spawn - but some of them are windows I want.
Pow allows you to tell it to kill it, then you can kill all with similar names, same domain, etc. and you are good to go!
