Fair enough, I glossed over that whole convo starting with your post in #30, my bad. I'm against laws that would prohibit convicted felons from owning firearms, and that would include "gang members" however that is defined.
Nothing about that statement implies a requirement for the half I quoted.
In fact what it's saying is that if you take away the right to bear arms a "well regulated militia" is not possible, and that it is necessary for a free state.
But to be clear you are removing an individuals right before they commit a crime because you think they will commit a crime. We could apply that logic to white people as well.
Interesting.
So the 2nd amendment is for all people unless you come from a certain segment of the population that is more prone to gun violence and then it can be removed based on you being part of that population?
Oh no wiki contradicts your link

They made a inclusion in the law called the anti gang rule. This was done so inner city youth can't carry.
Back then, Well Regulated Militia's existed. Where are they now?
The US population, barring some elected officials, is the militia. I agree, they should be better armed and trained (aka. "Well-Regulated".
They wrote anti-gang laws because young black males kill each other at a rate higher than any other group in the country, by a couple orders of magnitude. In fact, if you removed the black-on-black murders (black men age 18-35) from US statistics, our rate is the same as Canada and Denmark (within the statistical margin of error).
That's why it's funny when neighboring states like MD/VA/PA are passing stricter gun laws. Anyone who wants to get a gun can easily go to WV and buy one off an ad in the paper/craigslist no questions asked. More faux outrage from city liberals who want to tell mountain men how to live in the mountains.
Who is saying that inner city black men should be banned from owning guns? All I would say (and what I'm assuming others are saying) is that it's D'Claudius that's more likely to shoot someone on the street than Cletus. West Virginia, despite being redneck and poor as hell, has a gun homicide rate below average for the country, and I'd like you to show an example of loosened concealed carry laws resulting in significantly higher gun homicide rates.
White guilt can be powerful.nice derogatory racist title.
"Well Regulated" simply meant well sorted, re. having sufficient equipment. Not that they were gov't regulated, in the modern sense.

"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials." - George Mason

There are seven other 'constitutional carry' states that pretty much allow you to carry without a class / license. I say it's a good thing.
Then it would seem like for the purpose of self defense young black men are the ones who need to carry guns more than any other demographic.
So a militia is "the whole people"? Then why didn't the framers just say well regulated people? Did they mean back then to exclude black people from that amendment? After all were not black people counted as property?
White guilt can be powerful.
Some folks will never shoot off their toe,
But then again, some folk'll,
Like Cletus, the slack-jawed yokel
Bigoted poems are great, so funny! Give us one about black people. :awe:
