Clearing the CMOS data...

When you change the jumper to clear the CMOS, is this done with the power on or off? Manual seems to imply to pull the AC power cord... But doesn't the jumper have to have power routing through the circuit to make the CMOS clear????

It clears when it loses power (what you're going when you change the jumper)

My manual reads as follows eVGA 680i

1. Turn off the AC power supply and connect pin 1 and 2 together using the jumper cap


I would assume they know what they are talking about.

I believe it clears when you remove the battery refresh power when you remove the jumperand ground it. I think you could remove it while power is on with no effect.

You can, but it's probably safer to tinker around with your PC's guts with the power switched off.
