Cleared CMOS, computer won't post

My computer had been having problems lately, it would not detect my hard drives sometimes when I boot, or when does, it would freeze anytime between a minute to hours of use. When it does freeze and I restart, my computer will not detect my hard drives and I have to reset it several times to get it to find them.

So I tried clearing the CMOS and now my computer doesn't POST. I turned off the power supply, turned off the power bar, and then removed the cmos battery and moved the jumper. Moved the jumper back and put back in the battery and tried to turn everything on. The motherboard LED turns on but that's it. What do I do? 🙁
 
If you have another desktop system, you might want to start by removing the boot drive and backing up any important data that's on there. If you get "Access is denied" on certain folders, such as your folder within C:\Documents and Settings, then use this info to take ownership of them.

It might help to know the specs of your system, such as the brand & model of the power supply, the motherboard, and some info about the rest of it. One possibility is bad capacitors on your motherboard (they shouldn't be bulging, leaking or oozing), and another is power-supply trouble. So maybe take a careful look at the motherboard's capacitors to ensure they're all flat-ended and not bulging or leaking, and try a different good-quality power supply if you have any spares.
 
Make sure the jumper is in the correct place. Battery right side up? (I've never had to take a battery out to reset the bios. Jumper always works.)

Your psu may not be up to spinning up the hds fast enough on the first boot try.
 
My motherboard looks fine and it was posting right before I tried clearing the CMOS. I want to fix it so that it posts before I bother with my other problem of freezing/non-detected hard drives. And yeah the battery is the right side up.

I had the same issue once. Only by disconnecting all the power connectors + removing RAM did it start to post again.

If all else fails, try removing the motherboard from the case. I've seen that work also.
