Man, if he has chitin in his fingernails, he's one scary dude! (Chitin in normally found in crustaceans and some other arthropods. But his claws might be good with drawn butter.)

Now you're really freakin' me! On Moh's hardness scale, a fingernail rates 2.5, and a screwdriver is from 5.5 to 6. Sounds like you're saying that Philgag is some sort of lobster-- Edward Scissorhands mutant!
