Clear IE history TOTALLY?

I usually delete all my cache and whatnot maybe once a week, but I've seen before that doing that will not totally remove everything. This became apparent when I went to NTcompatible.com today and links in the dropdown menu showed up. This is strange because I've cleared my cache about 100 times since I last visited the site which was over a year ago!

Does anyone have any programs that cleans EVERYTHING? I had one a long time ago, but I've lost the link.

how about just deleting the links directly

You mean deleting the files in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder? I always do that after I use the built in IE tool just to make sure everything was deleted.

I thought you were talking about links in your favorites. What makes you think clearing your cache will affect how you view a website beyond your control?

If you are talking about how visited links turn a different color when visited, that would be odd but its probably the way the page is programmed somehow. Mouse over the link and see what pops up.

I'm talking about old links showing up in the address bar.

I had not been to NTcompatible in over a year. I had deleted my temp. internet files many times before, and when I went back just now, there was a link in the address bar that pointed to a page on NTcompatible that I had not been to in a year.

What I'm saying is, IE keeps internet history in a location other than just "Temporary Internet Files". I had a program that used to clear this, but I forget what the program was called.

Why didnt you say that in the first place? This never happens to me btw.

First I clear the cache and CLEAR THE HISTORY.

That allways does that for me.

install tweakui and then use the paranoia setting to clear everything, including your run history and everything else 🙂
