Only if someone sees them and then reports it to the public...and why would someone with a desire to report things to the public about the minister's character be snooping around/allowed access to his computer in the first place?

and to even mention pedophile is fvkn ridiculous.

After all the scandal a couple years ago, I think at least one joke about it is pretty much mandatory at this point.

I wonder how effective just encrypting the files with NTFS encryption would be and then just dumping the keys needed for decryption.

It's the same as overwriting the data with 0's just once - it's not good enough. The concern here is that with good enough tools, you can still read the old data, which is why the entire disk needs to be overwritten several times as a good was to ensure any old data is rendered unrecoverable.
