cleaning up the wires...

okay, i've got a lovely new case with nice copper rounded cables and a beautiful motherboard

i've got a nice huge window to show it all off, but it still looks like garbage with all the wires... can you help? what do you suggest to make it less cluttered?
check out the pics below if they help... sorry about the crappy webcam shots, but my digicam lost itself...

I used expandable sleeving in my case, and it turned out pretty nice. There is a guide somewhere out there on how to get the connectors off of your PSU wires and stuff, but I can't find the bookmark

I used wire loom. the stuff that the wiring under the hood of your car is encased in. I is available in many different colors so you can dress it up any way you like.

That's the one Not too difficult, just time consuming. You can use heatshrink tubing if you like, but I just used cable ties because I didn't feel like trying to get the heatshrink over all the wires. You'll understand what I mean if you do go this route

Consider using plastic cable ties to hold bunches of wires together against the hard drive cage or the motherboard tray. I even route some of the wires inside my cases behind the motherboard.

I do this on my other cases because they dont have windows. Just make sure none of the wires are getting pinched when you put the side panels back on.

IF u dont wanna go thru the trouble of ordering sleeving, looms and then opening up the PS and all, go to ur local Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some clear Vinyl tubing from the plumbing section. Then get some normal / flourescent adhesive tape (from electrical or paint section) OR some transluscent / flourescent cable ties.

Measure out the length of the wiring u wanna encase, cut out a similar length from the vinyl tubing and split the tubing vertically with a sharp blade (use an exacto knife if u wanna be safe). Now simply feed the wiring into the tubing and decorate with the tape or ties To make it neater, put heatshrink tubing around the ends (also availble in the stores instead of paying S&H).
