cleaning up pops in audio

I'm trying to clean up a file of a prerecorded speech. The recording was done on a bad mic (with no pop filter) that has really bad breath pops, letter P, T, B. P is the worst.

I'm trying to figure out if audacity has a decent filter to handle this. I want to compress the audio waves as the peaks where the P sounds is very obvious and soften it down. I should clarify: A noise, click and pop, normalize, did not help. I may need to go through it manually and select each area with a hard sound and soften it with a high pass filter. Thats going to be very time consuming.

Thanks

Thanks nova2. Interesting software. Pretty good actually, much better then any plug-ins I tried, but doesn't quite solve the issue for me. It's lack of control is annoying though even if the output isn't too bad.
