Cleaning off a corroded battery terminal?

My stupid mp3 player. It'll power up sometimes. The terminal is all corroded, and I'm not sure what to try to clean it off. What, that will be safe for it, will help break up the crappiness that's on the terminal.

Any ideas? PGA? Lemon Juice?

Baking soda and water. Mix it up and brush it on with an old toothbrush if you have one. It works VERY well.

Sorry. I re-read your post. Replace "tooth brush" with "Q-tip" and you should be fine. I thought you were talking about a car battery.

lemon juice and coca cola are bad because they're more acid. the baking soda (when mixed with water) will buffer the acid that's leaking from the battery.
