There seems to be thin layer of dust over all of my computer parts and inside my case.

What should I use to remove this dust? Is it alright just to bring a vacuum cleaner with a hose? A can of pressurized air? Should there even be dust in my case [built computer about 4 months ago], is it an airflow problem?

Also, I noticed all of my temps are up by ~7-10 degrees Celsius (Video Card, and CPU) idle since December. Would dust be a major contributor to a rise in temperature this significant [well it is like 75-80 degrees here, december it was 40-50].

thanks...

I'd go with just compressed air. It helps to do it often, and keep the general area as clean as humanly possible too.

Do you have a step by step procedure on how to do this? I'm really interested especially if you can post some pics, before and after the cleaning method. Thanks. Oh BTW, any specific brand of oven cleaner or steel wool pads in particular? I'm a little tight on budget that's why I use generic types, I hope this will be OK.

I use an air compressor, but just be careful and don't point it directly at a fan when pumped up to 120+ PSI - fan bearings that are designed for a couple thousand RPM don't take too well at being spun at WD raptor speeds and up ;)
