cleaning a pda screen

I have an hp 1910 and I still haven't gotten a screen protector for it. fortunately the screen isn't scratched or anything and I have it in a thick leather case, but the screen is extremely dirty with smudges. what would you suggest to clean the screen off without damaging it?

A wet paper towel with a dab of dish soap (dish soap is a degreaser)

Use a 100% cotton cloth, paper towels or tissues have synthetic fibers that can potentially cause scratches.
