I normally service copiers and toy with computers. I've been offered an opportunity for some side work cleaning/polishing cases and monitors for an office/industrial business. Essentially it is making the electronics presentable for the employees. We are talking some pretty grimy computers/monitors out the in industrial area to light dusting in the office area. Many of the monitors are LCD's ( some are just grungy with grease). Many of the keyboards are grimy. Before I accept, I want some of AT's thoughts. What would be good for the keyboards and LCD's that would take off the grime w/o damaging the stuff? I know when and where to use alcohol and glass cleaner. Normally on copiers the LCD's/keyboards never get this dirty. Usually just a damp(soap/water) cloth is what I use here. TIA

WE do some similar tasks where I currently work. Some are in ok shape, some are crappy.I'd suggest to you that standard CRT cleaner can do wonders for most of the stuff that you will come across. If you've got sticky stuff (why employees emjoy putting stickers on their monitors, I'll never know), try using some of that orange-scented stuff (can be called "Orange Stuff", "Goo Gone", etc.) and that should get rid of it. Whatever you use, BE CERTAIN that you are applying it to your cloth, rather than directly on the surface you are cleaning... Good luck to ya...
