Cleaner for Laptop Display

What should I use to clean my laptop's display? I remember seeing a few things reccommended before but I can't find them now. Anyone have some suggestions?

a soft slightly moist lintfree cloth is all you really need!

I use a clean wash cloth moistened with distilled water (that way minerals in the water won't discolor the screen over years of cleaning). Oh, and it is good to turn the laptop off, as most of these LCD screens are slightly pourous. Dry it off with a dry cloth. Wait until all of the wet spots on the screen dry before turning it back on.

OR, you can go spend 19.95 for a "laptop screen cleaning kit" (yes, I have seen such a thing).

I use Isopropyl Alcohol and a clean tissue.

Works well.

Sealed, pre-moistened towelettes specifically designed for LCD screens have been available for several years. Any laptop dealer usually has them. I always keep a few in my computer travelling case. They are good that way because they are the right thing readily available anywhere you might take your laptop.

The Dell laptop FAQ specifically recommends Isopropyl alcohol. I would stay away from any other kind of alcohol, but that one is pretty benign.

Cleaning

There are many cleaners sold specifically as LCD cleaners. These are perfectly acceptable for cleaning LCDs on Dell notebooks. If you do not wish to purchase one of these products designated specifically as an LCD cleanser, the following is a list of what is and is not acceptable for cleaning your LCD.

The following cleaners are acceptable:

Water
IPA (Isoprophyl Alcohol)
Hexane
Petroleum Benzine
NOTICE: The following cleaners are unacceptable:

Acetone
Ethyl alcohol
Toluene
Ethyl acid
Ammonia
Methyl chloride
These might cause permanent damage to the LCD due to a chemical reaction. Some commercial window cleaners contain ammonia and are generally unacceptable.

I use a cleaner called 'Plexus' to clean my laptop. It's Anti-Static which helps alot with the dust and ect. People that plays Paint-Ball uses this stuff to clean there mask len's alot. You can even use this stuff to clean your cd's. 😛

Chemtronics Plat-N-Glass works wonderfully for our techs at work. The only thing is that one can is WAY more than you will need for one laptop and this stuff isn't recommended for anti-glare CRTs. This stuff is great, it doesn't streak or run, and dries quickly.
