Clean Win 98 install locksup.

I am running a BETA Win ME and want to reinstall win98SE back onto my drive. I have a drive image of ME on my D: partition. Now when I format the C drive and try to install Win98, When it starts detecting hardware, it freezes. Restarting doesnt help, when it tries to continue, it freezes again. I have done many clean installs on this system, and with that 98 disc, but since ME, I'm screwed. Will I have to delete my partitions (Oh NO!!!) to go back. I really don't want to lose (or backup 25+gig) of info on D:

Athlon 950
Gigabyte 7IX (Irongate AMD751)
CLAP2
SB Live
WD 30.7 ATA66
Nic

I pulled all but the GeForce out for the setup, and Reset BIOS w/reset jumper. Anything else?

It looks like you'll have to fdisk your C:\ drive. Make sure you use Win98SE's version of fdisk to do this. I don't think you'll need to mess with your D:\ drive.

Ah but my D: Drive is just an extended partition of my C: Drive. If I use FDisk, I have to delete BOTH Partitions.
