Most have been one of my rare searches, usually only look at the front two pages.

*Not fake edit* Whatever turns you on, many people would disagree with you.

Tradition is one thing you cannot through away and technology is such a thing that you cannot resist coming. So try both and you will know that which one you need

Probably has been said already, but I suggest using a Wahl, like the ones a barber would use to edge hair. It leaves a "0" which is in my experience is just as good as any other traditional electric razor, but costs much less.

So, I've been using a really old Mach 3 Turbo for quite a while. At one point, I switched to that other brand when they had a really good sale, but I always preferred that small trimmer blade on the Mach 3. Anyway, I'm also really cheap, so I haven't replaced my Mach 3's blade in... probably 2-3 years? I stropped it once, and it seemed to refresh it a little, but not much changed.

Well, I decided to try out this safety razor. Why that one? Because it says it's manly, and damnit, I'm a manly man! Honestly... it sucks. The first problem arose when I looked at it. "This thing is puny!" I don't see how something that I would use the adjective "dainty" with would be considered manly, but that's just me. I could still use it by holding it almost like a scalpel, but I didn't care for that much. Although, what's worse is that it just didn't cut that well. Honestly, my old Gilette razor that I mentioned above cuts just as well, and I can cut faster and without nicking myself.

A safety razor is all technique. If it's not cutting well you are not using it well. It takes practice.

I tried it different ways, but it didn't really work well. Although, I guess the razor was manly in one way: it didn't come with any instructions on how to actually use it. Manly men don't need no instructions! :p

Razors are the best shave, but can be dangerous when you are in a hurry and can be tough on faces with sensitive skin and thick beards. As far as electrics go, foil shavers give the closest shave, but you should shave every day and the foil tends to be easily damaged. Rotary shavers don't shave as close as foil, but you don't have to shave every day, they are better than foil if you have a couple days of beard growth.

I have a beard now because its winter and it sucks to shave when it's freezing cold, but I use a basic Norelco "tripleheader" rotary shaver. I had a Braun foil for a while but the foil kept ripping and needed regular replacement; pretty expensive.

I hated my Wahl myself, in a short time.

If you have grown up using disposable blades to begin with, getting a good DE razor isn't hard and a lot cheaper.

I was using the 4 and 5 blade things awhile, a good DE is better IMHO by a long shot.

I even got the wife to try it out and she uses one now. And she is very picky.

I don't know about their electric razors, but I have a wahl trimmer that is badass. It pretty old and clearly not consumer quality though, so I don't know if they're still making anything like it these days. I love switching it on because it's one of those that pops into action with a loud "tock!" sound and feels like it's almost going to jump out of your hand due to the torque it's running with. :p

I've been using this regularly for a few months now. Apply it with a badger hair shave brush and work into a lather. I've never had a closer shave than with this shaving cream and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth as an android's bottom.

It's all good I guess.

I just like the DE better.

And yeah, I've still never gotten a badger brush and the Taylor Sandalwood :p Would like to try it out in the future.

Just use Barbasol Aloe myself.

I use this and DE safety razor. It's superior to anything else one can shave with. I will never ever use one of those disposable POS's again.

I forget which brand DE razor I use, but it's not Feather. Those things smoked my skin (sensitive) and I ended up getting a different brand.

Feathers seem to be a bit extreme on cutting from what I've read but I haven't tried them out.

I still like the Persona Blues.

People have preferences I guess, I just tried those and loved them from the start.

I'll have to look when I get home what brand mine are. I tried at least 5 different brand and this one was the best for my sensitive skin. I still get cuts here and there, but with Feather I was like AHHHHH IT BURNSSSSSS!!

Funny I just finished trimming my beard and this thread popped up. I plan to go back to clean shaven once it starts to warm up. Though I'm almost debating on keeping the beard year round now... it's kinda uhh, growing on me.
