Hi, guys I know how to get the drive recognized if windows is already installed but how do I do it on a clean install? I am using the WinXP cd with SP1 integrated. WHat else do I need to do in order for the drive to be seen at full capacity when doing a clean install from the cd? Thanks and take care

check to see if your bios is up to date on either your motherboard or card that you have your drive on, if your hard drive isn't being detected with full size

Boot from CD, install it on a smaller partition. After installation, enable the full capacity (and set whatever partitions you want) using Windowns Manage program.

You have to partition your HD using 3rd party software. Did your HD come with a floppy/CD? If so they're bootable and they can partition your HD so you can use all 160GB. You'll have to go into your BIOS and make sure the either the CD-ROM for floppy is first booted, whichever you have. So if you have a floppy, set the floppy to boot first and boot using the floppy! Same thing for a CD.
