Clean Install and Restore of a Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro 5,1. It has been giving me problems (i.e. Not waking up from closed lid, kernel panics when disconnecting firewire hard drive and sometimes when shutting down, and bluetooth not showing up. I am about to reinstall Snow Leopard from scratch and restore from a Time Machine backup. I just want to make sure I have everything ready.

1) Do a final time machine backup
2) Do a SuperDuper backup
3) Clean install of Snow Leopard
4) Update everything
5) Restore from Time Machine backup

That should be everything right?

Make sure after you boot from the OS X dvd that you go into disk utilities and erase the volume just to really clean it up before install.

Have you tried creating a new user account to see if the problems persist?

If you do a clean install and update you may want to wait a little bit before you restore from Time Machine. This will allow you to use the machine completely clean and make sure the problems don't return before restoring your other stuff. If they do, you may have a hardware issue.

No more kernel panics. Quicker startup and shutdown. Actually wakes up when opening lid. Still having the bluetooth issue. I think it's more of a bug in 10.6 but the problem persists in Windows 7 when I boot into it so I don't know. All in all it took less than 24 hours from starting to SuperDuper backup.
