Clean cd scrathes

some of my dvds have some small scratches in the and cause them to skip. does anyone know a gppd way to clean them without buying one of those cd cleans from the store. HAs anyone had anyluck with the cd repair kits you buy at the store?

Over at the teamxbox forums, I've read that a few people have got their discs working by dipping them into boiling water for a few secs (not kidding!). Logically this just melts the plastic just enough so that the scratches get filled in.

Don't know if you're willing enough to try this out, but it's a possible solution (and free too). :cool:

I long time ago I read a pc gamer review of one of those cd repair things and they said it was great.

I find a white rubber eraser works great. Then use a soft cloth and polish.
