Clawhammer vs Sledgehammer

Ok, so i am going to buy an AMD Athlon 64 FX-55...but here is my problem

I like buying from newegg, and they are a company i trust...now they are selling an FX-55 for $895 with a Clawhammer Core

While zipzoomfly, a company i have never used before, but heard good things, is selling an FX-55 with a Sledgehammer Core, for $825

Now, if Clawhammer is better, i would be willing to pay that extra $50, but if it really doesnt matter, or Sledgehammer is better, then i will use zipzoomfly

So what should i do?

Check the manufacturer model numbers on newegg and zipzoomfly. I think those are the same CPUs. I thought sledgehammers were all
socket 940, but I am probably not up to date.

Do you really want an FX-55? For gaming you are looking at maybe a 10-15% fps improvement at stock speed for 150% more money,
based on my reading of the cpu charts at Tom's Hardware.

AMD has new cores coming out April 4, including a 3800. I think you should get what you want, but maybe consider waiting 2 weeks
for the 3800 which will cost about half of what the FX-55 costs, plus be a more efficient 90nm part with potentially good overclocking.

but that's what the FX-57 is for... 90nm technology into these FX's...

i say wait.... its possible the 55 may drop in price due to these new chips being released next week.
