Officially the ClawHammer is due to be launched in Q4 2002, and the SledgeHammer in Q2 2003.
PC2100 DDR SDRAM, on a dual channel memory controller for the ClawHammer, and PC2700 DDR SDRAM on a dual channel controller for the SledgeHammer. >>
Correction, SledgeHammer is slated for Q1 2003.
Both the ClawHammer (1-2 way desktop/workstation processor) and SledgeHammer (2-8 way server processor) will support PC2700, PC2100, and PC1600 DDR DRAM. ClawHammer will utilize only single channel (64-bit) technology, whereas SledgeHammer will have a dual channel interface (128-bit) in addition to twice the L2 cache as ClawHammer (supposedly 1024K for SledgeHammer versus 512K for ClawHammer).
