I just went and registered and found the email addresses of some VERY old school people I went to ELEMENTARY school with!

this site is kind of cool, but to really get any info, I think you have to pay. You can search and browse for free.

Fun to see old school names though

well surely they get their staff and servers for free. I know for a fact they don't have to pay for bandwidth. Why then should they charge me to look up an email from an old school friend?

I hate that they charge but I can see why. It'd be nice if it was free but it's not a non profit organization. It's all about the money.

I found the emails of several of my high school friends through searching on my own, but never bothered to write any of them. I just didn't have anything to say.

I signed up (it's only $36 for a year) in the hopes of finding some old military buds. No luck so far. Yeah, I found some of them, I left them messages (you don't actually get their email address, you leave them a message), but never heard back from them.

Here's the problem with Classmates. It's free to browse and to include your name in your class. Millions of people do this. They are curious, that's all. They take a look for a week, then move on. They never come back. If you paid for the service you could check for new messages. The fact that you paid means you are interested in talking with old friends. The people who don't pay, they arent' that interested, otherwise they would pay and keep up with any messages. This is the conclusion I came to after leaving a number of old friends messages. They don't even read them (you get an email notice whenever a message is read so unlike email you know when they read your messages).

Now, two sad stories from people I did get in touch with.

1) I emailed this girl. We had a brief affair when we were both living overseas. The last time I saw her was her last night overseas. We went out and got hammered. She said she had to go to the bathroom so I waited for her. She never came back. I was so bummed I never got to say goodbye. For years I wondered what had happened to her. I looked her up on classmates and left her a message. Guess what? She wrote back and told me she didn't know who I was! LOL I reminded her of all kinds of things that we did together, not just simple stuff anyone could make up. She denied remembering any of it! Talk about a slap in the face.

2) This absolutely hot cheerleader from high school left me a message asking me if I remembered her. Hell yeah I remembered her. She lived in my neighborhood, and her little brother was a good friend of mine. The thing about this girl was she stuck up. She was hot and she knew it. She didn't give anyone in our neighborhood the time of day, so when she left me a messaged I was puzzled. Why would the class hottie email me after 20 years? (yes, I am old - lol) I had moved away before graduation, she didn't even remember that. lol Finally, after a bit of chit chat, the real reason came out. She asked me if I remembered the little doggie they had. I said no, I didn't remember (i was 16 at the time). She said I should remember because every time I came over the dog would pee on my leg. Ah, it all made sense. 20 years ago she was the high school beauty queen snubbing her nose at me. Did time bring the beauty queen down to earth? No, 20 years later she was still snubbing her nose at me. The only stinking thing she could remember about me was the friggin' dog pissing on my leg. After that one email, I never heard back from her so her only point was the rub it in. B*TCH!!!!!!!!!!
