Well it is that time again. I love sharing classical music with folks who appreciate it and this time will be no exception.

This is yet another Sibelius piece with which to test out your meticulously fine tuned sound setups. Just as in the past, this is opera, as I have found that it proves to be the most obvious benchmark.

This selection from The Maiden In The Tower, Opr in One Act: Scene 3 with Erland Hagegard and MariAnne Haggander is quite interesting. The soprano voices are of course quite enjoyable to most everyone with even the cheapest speakers, but those with quality systems will be able to enjoy the subtle bass score in addition to the low end of the chorus.

Of course I would provide you all with nothing less than lossless so here are both the Apple mp4 lossless and MS wma lossless versions

Enjoy

Whats the song from Requeim for a Dream? I've been wanting that one.

I like classical music, but I haven't had enough experience with it to really know names/composers of all the famous stuff.. I feel like an idiot asking for a classical piece by referring to a movie its been in, but thats the best I can do / :

Also like the one that made Cleric Preston cry in Equilibrium... man, serious music afficianado's will kill me for saying that.

-Note to self- take a music lit. class next semester.

nice, nice...I just started up Artur Rubinstein's Chopin Collection, first disc - Nocturnes. Some easy piano music before bedtime ^_^

Oooh, Nocturnes- I can play Nocturne in E flat. (Took 11 years of lessons, so I know piano music)

Seriously though, I'm putting in a request for the song from Requiem for a Dream, that song is awesome.

Is there anyone here who likes music from the Second School onward? Even something as "mainstream" as Wozzeck or Pierrot Lunaire?I feel so alone in on these forums. Please tell me someone else likes nonteleological atonal music!

And the score for Requiem for a Dream is truly wonderful.

Wasn't the score for requiem longer? I vaguely remember it escalating quite a bit more than this at the end of the movie...

well there's different tracks altogether, you're probably looking for "Meltdown" or "Lux Aeterna" or "Summer Overture"

I'm thinking of the one at the end of the movie when it all goes to shit, it sounds like this one except it's longer. I'm guessing that's probably "Meltdown"?
