After watching that marimba google video thing (posted here) of the Mario NES songs, I started thinking about how much I enjoyed that system and how great the games were back in the day and they could even be fun today! Really an example of how the games make the console. I wonder what you all think are the classic games. I only remember the three Marios, duck hunt, and some dragon game. So, list away!
probably dragon warrior... i remember nintento power magazine offering a package with that game, like the game and a guide book or something... thats how i got it. jeez, that was like 20 years ago.
I remember that deal. God, it was so great. An entire GAME, if you subscribed to NP. Not even parents could refuse that.
For a couple of years there, receiving my NP in the mail was almost like a religious experience. I would so completely look forward to it each time of that month. If it didn't come, I was so disappointed. Coming home from school with a new NP waiting was the best thing ever when I was about 10.
Technically, the magazine was fairly bad. But you didn't care or even notice back then. That's what makes childhood so great.
