Lets see: awesum games of pre-2000:
hack n slash's done right:
Darkstone (frekking awesum game, this > diablo)
Diablo I & II + expansions for both
first person shooters:
Duke Nukem 3D (+ mods & lan party = winning)
Quake (GL quake.. for lan parties)
Half-Life (counterstrike mod)
Cargames:
Carmageddon (not a good single player game)
Sim games:
Simcity 2000 (I like the simcity games too)
RailRoad tycoon (my favorite sim game ever)
Theme Hospital
Turn based RPGs:
Final Fantasy VII (admit it, you cried in this game! when she died)
Final Fantasy VIII
Xcom (terror from the deep) (I LOVED this game, I demand a new one! turn based!)
Baldur's Gate I & II
Icewind dale
Fallout
Fallout 2 (why the f*** did fallout3 turn into a first person shooter? /cries)
Planescape torment.
^ Id highly recammend any of the above games, even today,
because the gameplay in all of them is just really really good.
The graphics might be abit dated though, but doesnt take anything away from the games.
