Doesn't matter, Bird was better than both of them.

Truth... Larry LEGEND Bird is my hero.

Oh so pimp

no doubt Bird was amazing and he pushed Magic Johnson to be teh best he could be. i wouldnt put him above Johnson, kobe or MJ. but close.

I thought it was pretty well known fact MJ can own Kobe. Sad thing is, all those kids in there with MJ really have no idea how great he was since he was before their time.
The few games I went too and saw MJ were unbelievable, the man just has something to him.

anyone whos currently going to UCSB can always try to get a job helping at MJ's flight camp. Its every year in the Thunderdome.

<-- UCSB Alum

Who cares, Magic was better then both

Magic Johnson admitted himself numerous times that MJ was the greatest. Larry Bird as well. Among the great players the consensus is that MJ was the greatest (as well as the casual fan and sports writers).

I hate both Kobe and MJ...I think Kobe has an edge. MJ had less competition back then too.

I would say Jordan played in a much tougher era.

Some of the players in Jordan's era: Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, David Robinson, Shaq, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, John Stockton, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, Shawn Kemp, Charles Barkley. The NBA was even more stacked back then.

I think Lebron would be a better contender vs MJ, and LeBron is not even in his prime yet.

No question in my mind. MJ > *

Oh, and I can't stop laughing about the comment that MJ had less competition, considering MJ played during the greatest era of b-ball to date.

Magic has always been humble. He could score at will, run the break blindfolded and when asked to step in for Kareem and play center he tallied 42 pts, 15 reb, 7 ast, and 3 steals.

MJ and Kobe were hands down better scorers.

In the last All-Star game after being diagnosed with HIV, he was selected MVP as the West won 153-113.
His stats in the game:
25 points on 9-12 shooting, 5 RB and 9 assists in 29 minutes
MJ's stats were:
18 points on 9-17 shooting, 1 RB, and 5 assists in 31 minutes

not yet, but maybe.

Plus LeBron is huge and ripped, he could power his way to the hoop.

"Classic debate"?

I see no debate, merely a question with an answer that everyone agrees to.

Of course he was the MVP, no one wanted to guard him. 😉

The only thing Kobe does better than Jordan is sucking.

and raping

Watching the NBA championship, I concluded as did all my co-workers that Kobe is no Jordan. Kobe is a big choker and not a game decider. Jordan rarely failed when da Bulls needed a game ending shot.
