Clartin allergy medication only seems to work for first few pills

After 3 or 4 pills they just stop working. They're overpriced too. Probably going to call up my mom to send some Allegra that she gets through her prescription. I've taken them before and my body seems to respond a lot better to them.

OTC doesn't let me get cheap Rx

claritin-d is so hard to find here. I don't even see a shelf label here. I also can't find the 12hr variety easily. It's all 24hr.. I find it doesn't work well for me toward 2nd half of the time period.

If you're concerned about price, you should be taking the generic equivalent for Claritin. I can get that at Costco for $11.xx for a bottle of 300 pills (one pill a day, so that's about 10 months of it.) But if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Zyrtec has not only gone OTC, but it's also gone generic, making it quite affordable. Try that before you start taking someone else's prescription.

You might need to add a decongestant to the antihistamine, if you have a lot of sinus congestion. Try it with your Claritin to see if it works, if that's your problem.

i must be lucky. we have claritin-d in abundance up here, in both 12 and 24 hr varieties at our local cvs.

I take claritin but it sometimes isn't strong enough and I have to supplement with benadryl. My doctor told me that ranitidine is also helpful if you ever take that for heartburn.

Zyrtech makes me drowzy and gives me cotton mouth.

Claritin works some what, but usually i just pop a couple Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride tablets and i'm good since it's usually my sinus.

The best stuff was the old formula Actifed. Not only did it stop allergies in their tracks, it made me smarter if I upped the dosage. I've yet to find an over the counter antihistamine that's anywhere near as good.

Claritin has been working for more than 3/4 pills for me... it's probably an individual thing.
