Clarkson suspended from Top Gear, new episode postponed

Did you ever watch the episode? They didn't screw over Tesla, they attempted as part of their humor and their love for gasoline cars, to demonstrate what would happen if it ran out battery juice. Which specially in the UK at the time of the episode was a real issue. You could only realistically charge the car up at home.

Musk is so high on himself that he gets uber defensive any time that someone attempts to look at his vehicles in a negative light. Would it have mattered to the episode if they ran a 2-3 more laps to kill the roadsters batteries? No the result would be the same.

nice reality you've got there 🙄

Pretty sad episode. It was nice that most of the footage was shot before the incident happened. The episode was pretty entertaining. It was basically May and Hammond presenting the show on the set without an audience. Most of the presentation had a pretty somber tone, and at the end they thanked people for watching and then said goodbye.

Edited Spoiler tags out.

Don't get BBC Canada so I'll have to wait until it pops up on Netflix, or through "other" means.

Last I heard, the boys were very close to inking a deal with Netflix. Just working out the final details. So Top Gear will most likely return within a year or so under a different name. I doubt the Chris Evans led show (whoever the hell he is) will be anywhere near as popular.

Episode was pretty good. There were a few pretty funny 'easter eggs' about Jeremy's departure, if you pay attention. Will miss the show, for sure. Hopefully the new show can carry the tradition, and maybe its a good thing to for a reboot anyway (get the format fresh again).

One request, bring back the cool wall. 😛

any word if they finalized the deal with netflix?

Nothing concrete, but the sources are pretty solid + they've been posting pics of things the group's been filming on their Twitter accounts. They've also reportedly got a deal with ITV (another British network).

Series finale premieres on BBCA tonight, 9pm.

It's not bad, though it's really not a full episode. James and Richard are in the studio without an audience (as I recall), and they introduce two films. One is a cheap classic sports car challenge, and one is a cheap SUV challenge. I enjoyed them both.

@ BBC America tonight 8-9:40PM CST. Season 22 Episode 8 (75 mins). Originally shown at BBC June 28th.

Jeremy Clarkson's wheels on his tested SUV (Vauxhall 4X4 Frontera Sport, 2.2L 16 Valve). I think he was clueless of the shape. ^_^

Can't you just subscribe to Amazon Instant Video? They mentioned it in the Ars article, but if you add it up, it wasn't that much cheaper.
