Prime is more than worth-it without any streaming. Seriously, I don't know why anyone wouldn't have Prime. 😛

it's substantially more expensive that ZERO which was the cost of watching it on the iPlayer.

i'm currently earning £18k ($28k) and any superfulous expense is out. and i buy like, 3 things from amazon per year.

This deal really screws over international Top Gear fans. While we do get Prime here in Canada, Instant Video is not part of the package. That doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon either.

I normally use a DNS service to access American content. With Netflix it's easy because one account works world wide. Not so with Amazon. You can only use US-based credit cards to sign up for Prime. There's supposedly a convoluted way to bypass it with gift cards but I haven't tried it.

Less tech savvy people won't be able to watch it at all. Hopefully it rolls out on DVD or something because I can quickly see it beating GoT as the world's most pirated show.

Given what Amazon is likely paying these guys (plus production costs) I'm sure they'll expand it to more markets. It would be stupid for them not to!

I wouldn't hold my breath. Amazon.ca has been seriously gimped for years. We don't even have the MP3 store.

I have amazon prime, but not all shows are free. I'm assuming we will have to pay for the episodes ALONG with paying for amazon prime?

I am sorry I don't know why people get caught up by Amazon Prime videos and assume a cost on everything because some things cost money. Unlike Netflix, Amazon has a digital video storefront. Unlike Itunes, Amazon has a subscription video. Non amazon materials has the same rules on amazon as it it does on Netflix, prior seasons are free. But since it has a store front like Itunes you can buy episodes, seasons, and season passes.

The one that can get people confused is exclusives. Something free on Hulu or Netflix might be only available for purchase on Amazon, because like I said its one part storefront one part subscription. That said they all have their pros and cons. Netflix has the strongest catalog, and by far the best originals. Hulu has the ability to watch current episodes. Amazon has a larger past season catalog and movie selection than hulu, and you can use the same service for your web purchases.

In the end no. Amazon original shows will have no costs for Prime subscribers.

Amazon makes it extremely difficult to filter out paid material when you are browsing as a Prime member. But I can't really blame them as the entire business model is built upon nagging the customers to pay. Verizon FIOS does the same thing and does not allow skipping of unsubscribed channels either.

Those hoping for a new Top Gear-a-like programme may be in for a bit of disappointment 🙂

You'd be wrong, because the trio will make every delivery as hilarious as possible with connections to some sort of contraption with an internal combustion engine en route to the destinations, if that's in their contract to deliver products.

It'd be a car show, make no mistakes about it.

Depends on the Xbone amazon app I only see prime videos, so I have to go to my tablet and buy something that isn't free if I want to watch it on that system.

Still on all systems its still very visually sorted. If it has the Amazon Prime symbol its free, if it doesn't and you don't want to buy it don't click on it.
