Clarity? 800 FSB?

Where is a clarica rep when you need one?

Actually, I need someone to clarify what exaclty it means to have a P4 2.6C Processor with a FSB (Front Side Bus) of 533 or 800 Mhz? When I see most specs from Rigs or Poster Signatures that state things like P4 2.6C in Asus P4C800-DX with FSB @ 270 ?

270? Why not at 800Mhz? Is there an issue with the RAM (DDR or non-DDR) that limits the threshold you can push? Is it the chipset? Nope, that would not seem to be the situation?

Clarity please! 🙂

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I am a little tired and things are not making sense on what I am reading.

users either post EFFECTIVE fsb; 4x FSB speeds (for P4) or 2x FSB speeds for (AMD XP) ..
P4 = 800 = 200 x 4
AMD = 400 - 200 x 2

or they post actual FSB

P4 = 200, or if they OC, they will post the actual FSB, in your case 270 FSB.
AMD = 200, then people will say their FSB is 215 or something to that nature.

most users post the actual FSB.
