Clarification needed HDD

Hello anandtech!
Writing this quickly before running to school, so pardon my mistakes. I am currently looking for a new harddrive to buy, the cheapest one I could find, pretty much. In my local tech store there are three same priced HDD's, which is the best one? And is it even worth to get the cheapest one out there? (SSD's are pretty expensive, I will be investing in those later.)
1. WD HDD SATA 1TB 6GB/S 64MB
2. WD SATA 3 BLUE Series 1TB 7200RPM 64MB
3. Seagate HDD SATA 1TB 7200RPM 6GB/S 64MB

That one.and The S-ATA III allows for up to 6 GBPS of transfer speed. Regular S-ATA allows 1.5GBPS.

They are all Sata 3, the ones that don't state Sata 3 say 6Gb/s which is the maximum throughput of the bus, not the max drive speed.

Personally I'd go for a western digital. Blue Is great, Black is faster, only use Green for a storage drive, not a system/programs drive as has a low power idle mode that has a slight delay waking up from.

The Black is faster and has a 5-year warranty. I'd go with that assuming that there's little price difference.

I think the Seagate only has a 1-year warranty whereas the Blue has 2.

At least, that's what I see in the UK and we usually get the thin end of the wedge wrt warranties.

I don't know about your country, but if you have per-law 2 years guaranty in every purchase then I'd opt for the seagate 7200.14, they are cheap and fast.

That is indeed right, black has 5 years and blu has 2 years of warranty. The price difference is 18€ (15£, 24,5$). Thanks a lot, didn't even think about warranty.

Seagate vs Western Digital? SATA vs SATA 3?

They're both equally good, if they cost the same and offer the same warranty period. I was initially reluctant in getting Seagate drives because they offer a shorter period than WD. I recently bought a Seagate 3TB drive because the warranty period is similar to WD. So far, its been problem free for the WD and Seagate drives that I bought.

You don't need anything more than regular SATA for the drives you've listed.
