WTF

Long neck + steamed or GTFO

never tried just popping them on a charcoal grill, take it off when it opens up and eat it? I love the natural sweetness.

normally you steam them in salt water
when they open fully they are done

you have a cup of melted butter and a cup of the brine used to steam

dip them in the brine to rince out any dirt, then in butter if you want and eat

true Mainers drink the brine used to clean them with when they are all done
i am a true Mainer

I am talking adding nothing. Just have the clam sit in water for like a day and then grill them. I am from an Island, uncle is fisherman, grand ma from a little atoll off the main island.

Razor clams are THE BEST! We went clamming last weekend and brought home a nice haul. (I love clamming with people who don't eat seafood - everybody stays nice and legal within their limit and I get tons of clams to eat!)

several years ago, I went clamming for some razors near Ninilchik, AK. those bastards grow to about 20" in length up there. We hauled in about 10 gallons worth in a rather short amount of time. tasty stuff.

My pop has a few clam farms on the NC coast, and in FL. I never really get a craving though....
