Gotta say that I am in love with this game. HAven't played the new expansion though. Anyone else played it? Is it good? Can you burn the CD so your friends can play too on LAN?

I wasted many hours on that game, truly addictive. Havn't played the multiplayer expansion, heard a lot of bad things about it.

Civ 3 is hard to play just like photoshop 7.0...people were unhappy the way I run/play.

yeah, i had that happen to me. gotta play on a small planet or at the end there's too much going on.

anyone played the Play the World expansion pack? It has new features AND multiplayer. I found this puzzling because Meier's last civ-like game Alpha Centauri had multiplayer built in to the base pack.

If you play Civ III, track down the "Double Your Pleasure" mod (free on the web). The mod works with the straight Civ III game or the expansion pack, though support for the expansion pack is better.
