Amazon has the expansion pack "Play the World" for Civilization III for $26. There is an Amazon MIR for $10, and the S/H is free.

Whoa, hot hot. But people say this expansion is actually kinda buggy and the multi-player mode is not as fun as the single player mode. Anyway, Civ III is one of the most addictive game ever, beware.

Yah--I wouldn't buy it for the MP, but the added features (new races, new technology, etc) apply to the single player mode also. The AI is quite a bastard to beat, so lots of replayability for single player.

I believe this was in the running for Computer Gaming World's "Coaster of the Year" but the "honor" ending up going to the PC version of 007 Nightfire -and- Heroes of MM 4 instead.

Buy Jagged Alliance 2 Gold or Freedom Force for some tactical goodness instead.

But still a hot deal if you really want it.

I have this for the play by email feature. Haven't used it yet but since it's release
there have been 2 major patches for Play the world Civ III multiplayer.
The second patch was just released a few days ago.
