Not the biggest fan but Patience is my favorite by far, November Rain is their best and Sweet Child is catchiest. Welcome to the Jungle is overrated and so is another one I can't think of right now. Never even heard of Estranged.

Edit: It was Paradise City, that's the other overrated song. Nice intro and guitars but when they sing the same chorus like 50 times it gets annoying.

I'd love the original GNR to parade around with immigrants & faggots verses in songs just to watch people heads explode

If they play one in a million. I dont expect Axl to censor much. He isn't the type of person who gives an eff. That song was controversial nearly 30 years ago when released.

I see a divide here. Appetite vs. UYI. Truth is that these are totally different styles, so not surprising some love and some hate Paradise and Jungle. They were great not so much as songs, but as rally cries.

And what was up with the robot rape album cover? Not in good taste, even for these guys.

My most played was definitely November Rain, but Estranged is way more epic.

Man, I can't believe I haven't ripped my original release discs of UYI to MP3. Gotta do that right now!

If you have an Amazon prime account all of their albums are free to stream.

It's not that I dont like Appetite, but the bigger songs on the UYI albums just have it all. For straight up Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll AFD its hard to beat. Estranged is a very powerful song. Great lyrics. The guitar solo(s) are flat out epic. I pick it over November Rain just on the fact it's not as ballady.

My word is like God when it comes to GnR, I am Slash:thumbsup::D

Re: Nirvana

What rock have you been living under?
I enjoy Nirvana and all, and was a senior in high school when Cobain killed himself, but I wasn't aware they were considered a highly-rated rock band.
So, allow me to restate my question: when did they become highly-rated enough to be considered overrated?

BTW, this rock is pretty bitchin' if I do say so myself, I've put in a lot of time and effort making myself a sweet pad down here. Also blocks out a lot of cultural garbage.

...the hell? I looked at this Rolling Stone list of 100 greatest artists, and I'll be damned. Somehow Nirvana is ranked higher than David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, and the Pixies aren't even on the fucking list?
I concede the point, apparently at some point they became overrated.

Uh yeah. Nirvana is considered the keystone to the grunge movement. They are huge, and hugely overrated.

As much as I love the Gunners, I think their best track ever is Human Being (a cover).

Civil War is very, very good though.

I'm aware of the first part, I was there... I didn't realize they'd been given such positioning in the pantheon for such a short-lived wave of music.

Considered extremely influential to a lot of bands. Not much different than the hair bands of the 80's and their short decade of excellence. Nirvana though, while good, really got blown out of proportion.

Civil War isn't bad, but almost everything on Appetite is better. In particular, Mr. Brownstone and Night Train.

I just got a hold of a couple of G'n'R bootlegs from their '91 tour of the USA , Axl had a terrible voice those night, the rest of the band sounds good though.

You think Bowie and NiN should be ahead of Nirvana in that list? please....
