I'll say it...GN'R = most overrated band in history of rock.
I see a divide here. Appetite vs. UYI. Truth is that these are totally different styles, so not surprising some love and some hate Paradise and Jungle. They were great not so much as songs, but as rally cries.
And what was up with the robot rape album cover? Not in good taste, even for these guys.
My most played was definitely November Rain, but Estranged is way more epic.
Man, I can't believe I haven't ripped my original release discs of UYI to MP3. Gotta do that right now!
Two years ago I would have said Sweet Child O' Mine is an obvious choice given its cultural impact (more than any G&R song), but now that we know its a rip off...
lol wut
When did they become highly rated?

I enjoy Nirvana and all, and was a senior in high school when Cobain killed himself, but I wasn't aware they were considered a highly-rated rock band.Re: Nirvana
What rock have you been living under?
...the hell? I looked at this Rolling Stone list of 100 greatest artists, and I'll be damned. Somehow Nirvana is ranked higher than David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, and the Pixies aren't even on the fucking list?
I concede the point, apparently at some point they became overrated.
I'm aware of the first part, I was there... I didn't realize they'd been given such positioning in the pantheon for such a short-lived wave of music.Uh yeah. Nirvana is considered the keystone to the grunge movement. They are huge, and hugely overrated.
