Just built a new pc and can't load civ3gold. Here is the message I get after 14% loads,

Component cd_root_files_protected
File Group cdrootfiles english
File F:\art\movies\race.bik
Error data error (cylic redundancy check)

anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Trying to Install it? If so, kill any unnecesary apps running in the background, especially those that have virtual CD's enabled.

If you have CloneCD or other CD burning software installed, they often enable Virtual CDs. A Virtual CD allows you to copy a CD or CD Image onto your Hard Drive and acts like a CD. This allows running Games without a CD in the CD drive. Many Copy Protection schemes detect these types of programs and won't Install.

So check your CD burning software for Virtual CD enable/disable settings.
