city code enforcement *now w/pic

So anyways, our yard had a small dead tree, so neighbors probably filed a complaint. We had some tall weeds in the backyard too.

We have worked hard cutting that tree into small pieces and disposing of it, cut all the tall weeds (supposedly fire hazard).

We call the "officer" to check and see if it's fine, he says he will come by and if ther's progress he will give us extension. (last week)

"Officer" doesn't do that, instead today he comes with 5 person cleanup crew, they take decompose (for gardening, that we paid for) stored in bags in the back of the truck. I have read the city code and it's not counted as garbage if it's secured in cans or bags (which it was).

They will probably charge $100 for less than 20 min of "work" they did.

But wait! ther's more.

They pretty much want everything removed from backyard, including bench we sit on, some wood behind the garage, and they are not happy that there are still some weeds left (clearly not a fire hazard).

If we don't do that, $500+ fine, probably next week.

Fucking horseshit, about 70% of the yards I see have way more stuff than we do.

Is this bench you sit on the car seat in the pic?? lol

No offense, but your yard looks like the same one I saw in a drug bust on COPS last night. 😉

Where's the before pics?

Must have been pretty bad to get a complaint and once that happens expect to lose a lot more than if you maintained your damn yard.

Just curious, how do you get that nifty dead grass effect in Spokane?

I realize there are some exclusive suburban communities that require super nice grass everywhere, but that's not the case here, growing grass is not required. Originally some kind of big storm tore down the brush-type tree on the side of the house, we dug out the the roots, that's why there's dirt there.

When we lived in Cheyenne the city code nazis cut down our backyard wildflower garden and a line of sunflowers. Everything was in full bloom at the time yet somehow the bastards thought they were weeds.
