Citrix on Linux - launch.ica

I want to log into my workplace's Citrix Server. When I try it on my new install of Ubuntu 8.10 Linux, I get the problem where it wants to open launch.ica, or for the user to choose an APP to open it with. I am assuming that it won't work because the server is downloading a Windows Client, but that's only a wild assumption on my part - my workplace might have support for Mac and maybe Linux. (There is a note that you may have to use the embedded java client - does such a thing exist on Linux? I know, UTFG, and I will , but in the meantime I could use a clue or two!) I'll go back and see if I can find instructions, but if not here is a link on how to install a Citrix client on Linux.

Thanks. I'm afraid to call the help line for fear of being yelled out for trying to use Linux!

Thanks, jhu! Working on it now. That's right, I think I did look inside that launch.ica file and it was just text configuration commands. Man, I CRS!

Drat! I didn't know Ubuntu wouldn't do RPM files, so I have to convert to .deb or use the tar ball. I guess I'll try the alien installation just for fun. I got hold of the Ubuntu desktop guide, it's pretty good to have.

That wasn't bad - used the Synaptic Package Manager to build alien, then converted the .RPM to .deb and double-clicked to install the Citrix client. Now to try it...

/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr
/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ralph@ralph-desktop:/usr/local/bin$

Argghh! The first time I started it I got a terminal window that gave a line I didn't get and then a prompt saying something like start client with [n] as default. I entered y and it quit, and now gives me this message, even after a reboot. Maybe Ubuntu doesn't use OpenMotif 2.2.3?
