Cities in the states that have a unique experience?

Asheville, NC has a pretty unique feel. I would call it Hillbilly/San Francisco fusion.

To me, farmlands still looks way better than cities.

I generally agree, I like to go outside into nature for vacation, but beauty is everywhere, in cities as well as in nature.

Part of a city being a unique or great city is what nature is accessible near the city.

For example Asheville, which has been mentioned by me and others, is right in the mountains, go 5 miles in any direction outside of town and you are pretty much in amazing natural beauty. Its not a huge megagopolis, but its a big enough city that its a real city, not some shitty collection of tourist traps.

I love going to rural places, national parks, state parks for vacation, but I see the value of going into town as well...

Why would you travel to cities? That sounds so unappealing.

What do you define as NOT "same old same old".

It's mostly bunch of steel/concrete/smell and too many people.

Travel to see the nature, not places that people ruined!

I struggle to find beauty in the cities, maybe from engineering/architecture perspective.....

In general, cities is like Mold on food. Humans ruining planet for selfish/arrogant reasons. You can see this quite clearly when you are on a plane.

But that's just me.
