Just stumbled on this. I already have the MasterCard version of this card, but i'm wondering if i should also apply for this.

The only thing that would make it worth it would be large amounts of purchases a Costco or something. But that would only be 1% and there are many other AMEX's you can get with 1% cash back too.

OK. The reason I asked is because I have a MBNA American Express Card and I get nothing for shopping at Costco. I know that a REAL AMEX offers this service. I'm thinking of getting the real thing and probably will on my next visit to Costco.

I got citi dividend MC + costco trueearnings amex. Their bonus cashbacks do not overlap. I am pleased with the return. I get 5% on gas, groceries, drug stores, 3% restaurants, 2% travel type expenses and 1% on anything else I choose to use on either card. I figure every little bit helps.
