cisco or oracle certification?

I have an opportunity to either take either a Cisco or Oracle in my HS. At the end of the 2nd semester (1 year class normally 2 years if taken at CITY College) you get the opportunity to take the certification test. The certification is the lowest level, but you can transfer the credits out to a CSU or UC college to continue for higher certification. Which one will be more useful in the real world?

Anybody have certification by Cisco or Oracle who can give me they opinions of the programs?
 
It really depends on your future interest. If you like programming and web then you should go with an Oracle cert so that you can run DB's. If you like networking and all that applies to networking then go for your CCNA.
 
There are a bunch of High School educated CCNA's and most do not pass the cert test and get the certification. I find that disturbing.

On the other hand, it is not often I hear of a High School teaching students something like Oracle database management or programing. In terms of value,I would say Oracle,and if you get certified, take an internship in a place where those skills are needed. Perhaps collage will not be as lucrative as you think.Oracle certs get paid big bucks.😉
 
CCNA is FLOODED, if you want to be worth something get Oracle, no one likes oracle work so they don't do it. CCNA's are starving all over the place cause you can pick one up on every off-ramp 😉
 
You keep bumping but the first post asked the most important question which you don't seem to have answered yet. It's all about what you would really like to do.

Our school use to have cisco, now they only have evil microsoft... Cisco was probably easy, everyone passed and most with high scores. However they did spend one entire year for one cert. Oracle would probably be best since I've have never heard of a HS offer it and Cisco is just basically routers and cabling stuff.
