Cisco IOS Software

Perhaps I am over looking the obvious but I have had one heck of a time finding the latest Cisco IOS Software to download to my equipment.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

you'll need smartnet maintenance on the gear to download software. IOS is also licensed by feature set, meaning you can download any version of IP software if you purchased IP IOS. But you can't just grab enterprise.

If it says I am not permitted to download what I need. What requirements am I missing?

Do I need my CCNA number? Is it a support package we need to purchase?

You need to purchase a software support contract (a "SmartNet" contract) for your equipment.

If you have some of the lower-end stuff (like an 804 router), then the upgrades may be free. Otherwise, you must pay for either a single license (per device) or a yearly Software Support contract (Smartnet).
