Im new to the forum so let me apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered to death.

Im thinking about going for the Cisco CCNA certification. I plan on doing this on my own without paying the outragous fees for having an instructor read out a book to me. I have came across a few books that cover the subject and just want to some opinions on the items I am thinking about purchasing. Below are the items:

CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate : Study Guide (with CD-ROM)
by Todd Lammle

CCNA Virtual Lab e-trainer by Todd Lammle

Any other suggestions on online resources or books would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

those are the best books, go to www.bookpoll.com, or bookpool, one of those, i ordered both those books for like 80$..Also some community colleges offer CCNA courses, i am taking CCNA semester 1 at Moorpark College in Moorpark, CA for only $22, and that gives hand on experience with wiring and cisco routers.

Exam Cram Routing and Switching is a great tool for assisting in the acquisition of a CCNA as well.
