Hello ,

I have 768 down/168 up dsl connection,
my old router broke down, so I got a new one ... and it's slow as ... , on the tests at dslreports.com I get 50 down!/133 up.

I called the technical support like 10 times, and last night they said, that it's because of very many users, and they are expanding their pipe.... ok ... but it still not supposed to be soo slow ... I get like 4kbytes/sec when downloading files, and they always get stopped in the middle :(

and here what I have found out .... on every ping outside I have at least one pocket lost. when I try "show nat" in router and "netstat" in win2k , in router I get like 4 times more connections then in win2k ... I get too much CRC errors in router ... in 2 days I got about 50,000 errors! ... using "show err" doesn't give me any errors...

and by the way, when I had previous router , my speed was absolutely perfect ... so the problem isn't in line ... because technican checked my line too ...

any help appreciated,
thanks ;)

is your new router a linksys router?... if it is than thats what the problem is.. flash your router firmware to the newest one.. should phix your crc erros and add a little speed.

What exactly happened to your last router? And what up/down speeds is your new router training to?

here is what happened to my last router :

I have several ports on the back of the router, two of them are "wall" and "phone" , to the "wall" port I should connect dsl line itself, and to the "phone" port I may connect another phone ...

so , my "wall" port just stopped working (no WAN lights were turning on) , so I tried to plug dsl line into "phone" port and it worked , but very slow ... so I worked like this for quite a time, until they changed me a router , and now I have it plugged in "wall" port , and it's still very slow ...

(P.s. maybe u know how to repair my old router ? I still have it)

And how do I know what speeds my router trained to ?

Thank you,
bye.
